Texas Handgun Restriction Posters NEW Texas Concealed Handgun & Open Carry Handgun Posters Required By January 1st, 2016 Prohibiting all weapons on the premises Employers
concerned about prohibiting all employees, clients, and visitors from
carrying weapons on their premises should review the requirements of
Texas Penal Code Section 30.06 and the proposed language for Section
30.07. Those provisions make it an offense for a licensed individual to
either openly carry or bring a concealed handgun onto company premises,
but they require that specific notice language be posted at the
facility.
Signs banning guns must include the following language: "Pursuant to Section 30.06, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with a concealed handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a concealed handgun" and "Pursuant to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly." Alternatively, the sign must include that language in English and Spanish, be in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch high, and be displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public. Due
to the requirements of posters being in both English/Spanish, along
with the requirement of the verbiage being at least one inch high,
these posters are quite large in size. FSLLPS
does provide an 18”x24” Laminated Poster for each required
poster. In addition, FSLLPS also has 1 English 11”x17” and
1 Spanish 11”x17” card stock version of each poster. Establishments
will be required to post their Handgun Restriction Posters on ALL
entrances of their establishment, including employee entrances. 1) If
you wish to ban ALL handguns (concealed and open carry), you will need
a set of both 30.06 and 30.07 posted at all entrances of the
establishment. 2) If you wish only to ban concealed handguns and not open carry handguns, you only need to post 30.06. 3) If you wish only to ban open carry handguns and not concealed handguns, you only need to post 30.07.
